October 4, 2021 - Lori Calhoun from the Arizona Helping Hands organization gave us an overview of the organization and how we as Rotarians can help. The organization provides many services to children in the foster care system in Arizona. We can provide service hours and/or donate individually. AZ Helping Hands is a 501(c)(3) organization and contributions are eligible for an Arizona Tax Credit.

September 25, 2021 - 8 members of the Kyrene Rotary Club labeled approximately 1000 dictionaries that will be delivered to 3rd Grade students in the Roosevelt School District in the next few weeks. Dave Kline was our gracious host who continues to provide storage for the dictionaries prior to distribution and provide a sheltered gazebo where we can work together. We had great weather and lots of laughter and fellowship.  Thanks Dave.

 August 23, 2021 - Anthony and Kim Gathers, owners of AGEEZ Barbershops in Phoenix, told us about the program they are involved in in their barbershops.  The program is Barbershop books. Using this program, and their own ingenuity they are providing opportunities for youth to learn to read and become good citizens.  See their presentation HERE. 

They are recipients of a $500 grant from the Kyrene Rotary Club.
