Did you know that if you're a rotarian you can use a special rotary mat to perform self-healing exercises? Good for creaky joints I suppose to stay limber and agile. They are for sale in very strange places but I can't remember just where. I wonder if I lay on the mat my memory will improve.
Especially for members of the Kyrene Rotary Club - can you identify this guy? Can you guess how old he is in this photo?
Oct 30, 2017 - Brad Hillier, CEO of Home Brands Group is a major contributor to our Dictionary Project which involves delivering dictionaries to 3rd graders in Roosevelt School District. He spoke to us today about his philosophy that he tries to instill into the culture of his organization. He believes "we can all get through life together" and emphasizes that he expects his people to not just provide services and products but to reach out and help the community. His organization also supports Habitat for Humanity and Military Makeover. He also told us a touching story of his family's recent adoption of a foster-care child. His financial support is greatly appreciated by our club.
Oct 30, 2017 - Today was dedicated to labeling dictionaries right after lunch. We had a good contingent of members who put in extra time to accomplish this task. (Dave, David, Machel, Doug, Wally, Kelly, Rob, and Ken). The temperature was moderate so we worked on the patio of the restaurant and exchanged lots of friendly banter. Lots of work but everyone had fun. Onward to delivery of dictionaries to the 3rd graders in Roosevelt School District!
If you are a busy person who wants to have fun while making a difference, then be our guest for lunch on Monday (not holidays) from 12:10 to 1:15 pm at the Kobe Japanese Steakhouse. We are men and women in ages from 30's to retired. Check our Facebook page - Kyrene RC as well. The URL for this page is KyreneRotary.org
Oct 28, 2017 - our club operated two booths with 4 corn-hole boards at the Tempe Halloween festival in Kiwanis Park. Seven members (Machel, Rob, Dave, Doug, Kelly, , David and Ken) were joined by a hard-working group of family and friends (Jessica,Susan, Pat, Skip, Lourdes, and Tom). We had lots of fun but the work was taxing and long. Watching the young kids in their often creative costumes was an enjoyable part of the evening.

Oct 23, 2017 - The "A World in Motion" (AWIM) project at Kyrene del Pueblo Middle School had its first meeting today. Several members from the club (Dave, Machel, Kelly, Ken, and Rob) along with extra help from Skip and Jessica began assisting the teams with plans and powerpoints. A photo gallery is available HERE. Other KRC members will be joining the group in the coming weeks.
Our club members are dedicated people who share a passion for both community service and friendship. Becoming a Rotarian connects you with a diverse group of professionals who share your drive to give back. Our club accepts new members by invitation.
