Five enthusiastic members of Kyrene Rotary Club as well as three eager family members sold snacks and cold drinks on Friday, May 1st at Tempe's "Movie in the Park" series. The movie was "The Boxtrolls" and a few children in the crowd were seen to be in costume wearing their very own cardboard boxes. A great night was had by all!
The movies, that will be shown the whole month of May, are free to the public and are meant for the entire family to enjoy. They are held on the north side of Kiwanis Park. For a complete listing of the movie, visit: Movies in the Park
April 27, 2015 - Leslie Balderas (President) and David Belohlavek (Treasurer) of the ASU Rotaract Club gave us an update on activities and projects the club has been involved in this past year. Two of their major projects for this year are "Arizona Trip 2015" and "Big West Conference 2016". The AZ Trip 2015 will begin on May 14 and end on May 24. This is the 3rd year for this event in which 6 Rotaractors from other countries will tour Arizona. Past events have been a huge success. The club is looking for help - sponsors, home hosts, event ideas, and funds are all most welcome. The club is looking for sponsors, breakout session leaders, and home hosts for the conference which will occur in October of 2016. Check their web site for more information.

April 15, 2015 - Kyrene Rotary members Bil, Andy, Doug, Tom and Harry served lunch to homeless men and women at Phoenix Rescue Mission and cleaned up the serving area after. Thanks Bill for arranging this annual service project. Phoenix Rescue Mission provides 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, overnight shelter and many other services to homeless people.
