July 10, 2017 - Club President Doug Bock gave the first "summer member presentation" for this year. Doug explained that in Plato and Aristotle's time there were no universities, only schools that focused on behavior. It wasn't until 800 that Charlemagne dictated that all churches and monasteries had to establish schools to educate the community. From there, these cathedral schools continued to develop into universities - beginning with Paris and Bolgna in the 1200's. By 1350 these universities had developed into the form we see today throughout the world.  Thanks Doug for a piece of interesting history.
